Publications

In order to make its scholarly activities better known and to assist the educational process the Ukrainian Catholic University and its Institutes publish educational literature in the fields of Philosophy, Theology, History and Language Study. The authors, translators and editors of the majority of these texts are teachers and staff of the University. Over the past 7 years, 92 titles have been published.

A part of the publications of the UCU and its institutes are accounted for in the following series:

The following are publishing partners of the UCU:

"Svichado" publishers, "Sfera" in Kyiv, the Institute of Ethnic Studies of Ukraine, the Institute of Historical Research of Lviv National University, Ivan Franko), the Center of Philosophic Studies and others.

Publications of the UCU have received the following honors:

1. History of European Civilization, a textbook written by Olena Dzedzhora, was named one of the best Ukrainian publications of 1999-2000; the award was presented by the president of the Seventh Publishers' Forum in Lviv.

2. Crisis and Reform: The Kyivan Metropolia, The Patriarchate of Constantinople and the Genesis of the Union of Brest, by Fr. Borys Gudziak, received second place prize in an all-Ukrainian contest from "Elit-Profi", a research center, in the category "Historical Works" for the year 2000. The author was chosen scholar of the year for 2000 (award of Galicia Knighthood)

Electronic publications:

In the year 2002 the Institute for Church History will put on-line its 30,000 page archive of 1200 fully transcribed and edited interviews.
